Motors

Yes, you've got it right - it's plural! After few tests of my own motor i have decided to install TWO brushed motors. Chineese design and 11-tooth sprocked will be driving one main shaft. I have to put it together into a motor unit with one pulley for a timing belt. I still have to work on the ratios for two transmissions though.

So here's a close-up of the motors:

Wheels!

Nothing happened through last few weeks. I browsed internet searching for an electric motor for my e-motorbike. I found some ideas, but still I find motors such as Lemco a bit too expensive.

Christmas made me fatter and lazier, than before. But here we go again. I bought two nice wheels, which will drive EVE.

Interesting feature: just atake a close look to a tip on each rim. There is a magic 8 ball there - just loved this small detail :)

EVE - Electric Enduro Vehicle

I have came up with the name of my project. EVE is the acronym: Electric Vehicle Enduro. It's the best name I could find, beside it's also a nice female name :)
For the designing purposes I used Google Sketchup, just to visualize the bike itself. I hope it's going to save me some time later on.

Main difference is the frame, which is made of alluminium in design, but I am affraid I will be able to get steel components on the market. Probably it will increase the weight of whole project, and take some kilograms, I have allocated for batteries. We'll see.

An update will come soon...

The beginning

After many thoughts on the topic I decided to start my electric enduro project. Since the winters in Poland are quite long and most often very snowy I have allocated next few months for theoretical work and some garage sub-projects. At the end I want to have fully working enduro based, zero-emission motorbike.
